Indian Pilgrims to Experience Mount Kailash Without Chinese Territory

*Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand*: Mount Kailash, revered as the residence of Lord Shiva and a sacred site for Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism, will soon be accessible to devotees from within the Indian territory. The Border Roads Organization (BRO) has undertaken the task of cutting roads from KMVN Huts in Nabhidhang, Pithoragarh district, to Lipulekh pass on the India-China border. The completion of this six and a half kilometers long road is expected by September this year.
The Chief Engineer of BRO's Diamond Project, Vimal Goswami, confirmed the commencement of road-cutting work and announced the development of a "Kailash View Point" along the route. The Indian government has entrusted the Hirak Project with the task of creating this viewpoint. Goswami mentioned that significant progress has already been made in road-cutting, and if the weather remains favorable, the project is on track to be completed as planned.
The yatra (pilgrimage) to Mount Kailash was previously organized through two routes, Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand and Nathu La Pass in Sikkim. However, due to the Covid pandemic, the Kailash-Mansarovar yatra on both routes had been postponed and has not resumed yet. This extended delay has prompted the Indian government to take measures to establish an alternative route for devotees to reach Mount Kailash.
With the new route being developed, devotees will no longer have to navigate through the stringent conditions enforced by the Chinese authorities. Under the previous arrangement, elderly individuals were required to pass medical tests and obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their doctors or travel with a blood relative. The "Kailash View Point" will now provide a pathway for devotees to visit the holy site from within the Indian borders, making the pilgrimage more accessible and convenient.
Mount Kailash holds immense significance for millions of devotees across different faiths, and the efforts to create a direct and secure route are expected to be welcomed by pilgrims from all over India. As the BRO's project nears completion, the spiritual journey to the abode of Lord Shiva will be further enriched, offering a memorable and profound experience for all seekers.
Devotees and pilgrims eagerly await the opening of the "Kailash View Point," which promises to be a momentous milestone in their spiritual quest to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva in the serene and sacred surroundings of Mount Kailash.
