The senses of perception arise from the sattvic part of the five great beings such as the sky: the eye, ear, nose, tongue and skin are the five senses of perception which are the subtle parts of these five great beings.

आकाशादि पंचमहाभूत के सात्त्विक अंश से ज्ञानेन्द्रियों की उत्पति होती है- आँख, कान, नाक, जिह्वा और त्वचा ये पाँच ज्ञानेन्द्रियाँ है जो इन्हीं पञ्चमहाभूतों का सूक्ष्म अंश हैं।
